Greg began his career as a student intern at two Knoxville architecture firms.  Upon graduation he became the first full time employee at DIA in 1993.  In 2005 through 2007 Greg worked at two large A/E firms and returned to DIA in 2007.  Upon his return to DIA he worked diligently to grow the firm’s prospects and projects and became Faris’ first partner in the firm.  As a Principal at DIA, Greg has experience in a wide range of project types and leads the firm’s industrial, Federal, State, and Municipal projects.

Throughout his career he has found great satisfaction in being involved in community and professional groups.  Greg is very active in the American Institute of Architects including having had positions on the local and state boards of directors, servicing as president of the local and state boards, and remaining a continuous member of the AIA TN Government Advocacy Committee.  Greg has also been a member of other non-profit boards including the East Tennessee Community Design Center and is active in his church as the Finance Committee Chair and Endowment Committee Chairman.

Outside the office Greg loves to spend time with his wife and three children, grill just about anything, vacation at the beach, eat at he and his wife’s favorite Italian restaurant, and relax with a good book.  While Greg took 3 years working at other firms in the area, large firms, he discovered a very important truth.  The corporate world was not for him.  The firms either treated their people like a commodity, ignored them all together, and effecting change was like turning the Titanic…..futile.  DIA is a home, a family, a place to grow, and is where he wants to be.
