As a Project Architect at DIA with nearly a decade of tenure, Oren brings a wealth of experience across all the project types the firm specializes in. Outgoing and knowledgeable, he always finds a way to turn tasks into learning opportunities for everyone involved. Oren is a born and raised Tennessean who graduated from UT Knoxville in 2011 with a Bachelor of Architecture. After school, he worked for the Nashville firm Tuck-Hinton Architects, where he participated in many significant regional projects such as the Country Music Hall of Fame Expansion, Music City Center, and the Nashville Sounds Stadium Parking Garage. In 2015, Oren moved back to Knoxville and joined Design Innovation Architects just as they began to experience an unmatched era of growth. During his tenure, he has worked on projects such as the UT Terrace Ave Garage, TVEC Surgery Center, Boys & Girls Club of TN Valley, and multiple First Watch restaurants across the region. Not long after joining DIA, Oren became a licensed Architect and has experienced the satisfaction of growing from being a team member to being a team leader.

A self-proclaimed amateur history enthusiast, Oren spends a decent amount of his free time learning about East Tennessee and contributing to local blogs and websites with interesting facts he uncovers about Knoxville. He has been involved with local organizations such as Knox Pride, Knox Heritage, Knoxville Park(ing) Day, Red & Green Committee, and Knox Public Art Committee. In 2017, Oren married his husband Mark, another Knoxville transplant from La Follette via Detroit, at World’s Fair Park Amphitheater (ask to see the pictures!). They enjoy spending time with friends and traveling as much as possible. Fun fact about Oren: He once had a piece of his artwork on display in the US Capitol Building for a year.
