Pershing, Yoakley, and Assoc.

DIA was commissioned by the accounting firm of Pershing, Yoakley, and Associates (PYA) to redesign a space in the renovated Cherokee Mills. This space is used as office space for PYA and their related entities: Bluegill Creative, Realty Trust Group (RTG), and Healthcare Horizons Consulting Group, Inc. (HHCGI). The complete interior renovation of this 3-Story, 40,000 square foot space began with a complete gutting of the area to the shell. DIA took care to maintain the historic characteristics of the building, which was built in 1917. Features such as existing hardwood floors and 6 inch hardwood ceiling planks remain as important elements in the design scheme, as does the existing brick which remains exposed. To contrast the historic aspects, more modern elements were added such as a large black granite tile wall which greets guests at reception. We were also able to enhance the many daylight opportunities already provided in the space, including several skylights and large windows.

Special attention was paid to the individual desires of the related entities, such as the industrial atmosphere for Bluegill Creative and the Grand Conference Room, where more traditional finishes and design elements were utilized. The mix of contemporary, historic, and traditional elements provides for a dynamic atmosphere fitting the multiple user’s cultures.
