Eric is a Registered Architect who brings to DIA 15+ years’ experience spanning a wide array of project types, delivery methods and professional working environments.  He prides himself in a well-rounded yet somewhat unconventional career path, having experienced Architecture from the perspective of both a construction supervisor as well as a designer.  These different perspectives have fostered in him an appreciation for pragmatism in design, and a belief that all team members have something meaningful to contribute to a project.  Eric enjoys the process of connecting a team’s collective expertise in the pursuit of holistic and effective design solutions and he is always seeking ways to help others benefit and learn from his own architectural journey.

He is a self-proclaimed “local historian”, having a keen interest in local architectural history and can often be found reading history articles while looking at old photographs, newspapers and aerial photos of Knoxville.  Although he’s enjoyed several opportunities to work on projects throughout TN and the southeast, he feels most engaged in projects which influence life in and around his hometown of Knoxville.

Outside of work, Eric dedicates his time to finding joy in the simple things alongside his wife, daughter, son, and their dog.  He can usually be found taking on DIY projects around the house or under the hood of the car, and occasionally he’s been known to pick a tune on the guitar.
