Angela is currently a student at the University of Tennessee Knoxville in the College of Art and Architecture. She is a self-motivated individual who pushes herself to her highest potential. She is a firm believer that she will never stop learning and that the world has a lot to offer in that standpoint. Angela is a detailed-oriented person and basically has her days and life planned out in her head but is currently working on learning to live in the moment and let herself be free to enjoy life. Currently minoring in Interior Architecture, Angela will then move on to obtaining her master’s in landscape architecture.
“What drives me as a person is to lead a life that is going to support my family and I in the future as I want to be able to give back to them for the hard work that they have put in to bring me to this point in my life. I am a first-generation college student in my family line, and I hope to continue to make them proud of the achievements that I make.”
Angela was born in Manhattan, NY but raised in China with her grandparents for 4 ½ years. She is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and yet says she cannot read or write as good as she should. Her hobbies include going on hikes, walking in the park, DIY projects, and travelling. She loves to be involved in the community and volunteer as much as she can. In high school, she was able to be a part of numerous organizations that allowed her to obtain about 150 hours of community service in two years. She also played soccer for her high school team, where she was named “Most Improved Player” and was named Valedictorian of her graduating class while accomplishing all of these goals.
Fun Fact: She skipped Pre-K and Kindergarten when she first moved to the U.S. (she says probably not a good idea because she did not know English at all besides the ABCs). This meant that she started first grade at the age of 5, hence why she is so young compared to others in her grade.
