Rik first entered the profession as an intern with an engineering firm that served large industrial and manufacturing businesses throughout the southeast such as Scott Paper Company and Alcoa Aluminum. His early experiences were formidable in gaining an appreciation for the vast range of design and construction types of buildings and projects encompassing the architectural profession. After working in a couple of large local firms excelling in academic, historical, and medical design projects he joined DIA where he is Senior Project Architect and Director of Healthcare Design Services. He enjoys the entire process of the building delivery process, from working closely with clients ensuring their vision and goals are met to seeing the final completion.

Outside of the office, Rik enjoys sharing home-time and vacation travels with his wife and children. Rik brings enthusiasm, hard work, and passion to his job and his family life.
