Rik Norris joined DIA in 2007 having held key management positions directing new construction design and renovation in a variety of building types throughout Tennessee and the Southeast. Rik’s 30-plus years practicing architecture, interior design, land planning, and real estate development with M & M Development Company, Cope Associates Architecture, and McCarty Holsaple McCarty focused on healthcare, financial, and educational facilities. He managed numerous projects for colleges and universities, including Emory & Henry College, Tennessee Wesleyan, Virginia Intermont, and the John Hodge[s?] Library at the University of Tennessee.
As a senior project architect for DIA, Rik’s Knoxville projects have included the $20-million University of Tennessee Student Health Clinic, the Overholt Gallaher offices at Emory Road, Gastrointestinal Associates medical offices, Pinnacle Pointe at Northshore Drive, and the renovations to 7 Market Square.
