402 South Gay Street

Due to our experience rehabilitating of downtown buildings, Design Innovation Architects (DIA)was commissioned to provide the total renovation for this historic circa-1880s structure. This two-story78,000-square-foot project was designed to house a major retailer, Mast General Store, o the first floor and two levels of the basement, and residential condominiums, The Gallery Lofts, on the second through fourth floors.

The initial phase of the work included a total reconstruction of the first-floor Gay Street facade, and upgrades of the rest of the facade to bring back the original historic character. The second phase included the conversion of the second floor to professional office space and the upper two floors into custom high-end condominiums.
