402 South Gay Street

Due to our experience rehabilitating downtown buildings, Design Innovation Architects (DIA) was commissioned to provide the total renovation for this historic circa-1880’s structure. This 78,000 sq. ft. project was designed to house a major retailer, Mast General Store, on the lower levels and commercial/residential spaces on the upper levels.

The initial phase of the work included a total reconstruction of the first-floor, Gay Street façade and upgrades to the rest of the façade to bring back the original historic character. The second phase included the conversion of the second floor into professional office space and the upper two floors into custom, high-end condominiums.
