Emergency Response Training Facility

The Emergency Response Training Facility (ERTF) is a 45,000 SF professional training facility for First Responders located on a 24-acre parcel on the Western edge of Oak Ridge and will be an integral part of the future Oak Ridge Enhanced Training Center Campus (ORETC). The project was developed as a design-build effort led by Lawler-Wood LLC, and executed by Design Innovation Architects and Merit Construction.

The ERTF facility includes many multi-media classrooms, labs, and conference rooms as well as a high bay space designed with flexibility and collaboration in mind. First responders and other professionals will be trained with state-of-the-art technology and equipment including virtual-reality, augmented-reality, and physical props designed for specific emergency scenarios. The facility houses a canteen with catering kitchen to service up to 75 people and is adjacent to the outdoor courtyard area for additional seating and break space. The facility will also fulfill the administrative functions of ORETC with a dedicated 50 office wing and central lobby to conduct check-in/ checkout for various functions across the campus.
