Holiday Inn Windows on the Park
Due to Design Innovation Architects (DIA)our extensive experience in interior renovations and solving complex design problems, the owners of this Knoxville hotel commissioned DIA to provide design solutions for the Windows on the Park Restaurant and Bar: the lobby, the main entrance, and the lower entrance and conference facilities.
As originally constructed, the restaurant, private dining room, outdoor patio, and bar were dysfunctional. There was no clear entrance to the restaurant and bar due to poor sight lines from the lobby. DIA’s proposed solution resolved all the noted concerns as well as provided a strong, cohesive design. The dining room was relocated to the more visible portion of the lobby. Moving the bar away from the public areas addressed the desire for sound control. An enhanced outdoor terrace, now connected to the bar, provides better use and greater visibility from the adjoining streets.
Lower-level conference facilities will be receiving a major redesign to the finishes and systems; with emphasis being placed on access, circulation, way finding, and ease of use. The new design materials and finishes exhibit a contemporary and professional atmosphere, setting the tone of the desired marketing outcome for the hotel owners.
