Hybrid OR
DIA worked with Covenant Health’s Parkwest Medical Center to renovate a 14,000 SF existing suite on the first floor into a state-of-the-art Hybrid Operating Room. The project was designed as a design-bid-build effort constructed by Merit Construction, with Engineering Services Group, Vreeland Engineers, and Bender and Associates as consulting engineers.
The Hybrid Operating Room utilizes the Philips Azurion 7 biplane image-guided therapy systems designed for interventional procedures. The scope of work for the project included renovating existing storage and staff work areas into a new hybrid operating room, equipment room, control area, storage, and equipment rooms. The project included the complexities of phasing the work to allow for relocation of existing spaces prior to the start of the new OR while other portions of the suite were constructed after equipment delivery due to its size. The project team also balanced critical MEP and structural upgrades performed with minimal disruption in the adjacent spaces to staff and patients. We are very excited that this project provides cutting-edge equipment and more operating room space for an ever-growing need in our community.
