Sawyer’s

Two young entrepreneurs came to Design Innovation Architects (DIA) with an idea for a new concept fast-food restaurant on a tight budget with an even tighter site to build on. Using every available foot, the resulting building footprint was 1,600 square feet, literally determined by the zoning setback requirements. The canopy overhang projects into the setback to the 3- foot maximum allowed.

The dining area features generous glazing for viewing pedestrian and street traffic while also overlooking the outdoor patio space formed by the vehicular circulation of the drive-through lane.
