S&W Grand

After being involved in the restoration of the Historic S&W Cafeteria’s exterior and interior, Design Innovation Architects (DIA) was commissioned to complete the buildout and install a fully functioning restaurant and banquet facility.

Challenges included situating kitchens, restrooms, and a labyrinth of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems without altering the building’s historic character—all despite tight ceiling clearances never intended for such utilities.

The design solution successfully incorporated all elements in a seamless fashion, allowing for the complex modern food- and beverage-service operation on three levels that became the S&W Grand Cafe.
